How is PnL calculated for crypto futures?
PnL is calculated by multiplying the price difference between entry and exit by the position size in units. For long trades, profit occurs when exit > entry. For short trades, profit occurs when entry > exit. Exchange fees (taker rate) are subtracted to get net PnL.
How is ROI (Return on Investment) calculated?
ROI is calculated by dividing net profit or loss by the margin used. Formula: ROI% = (Net PnL / Margin) × 100. Margin equals position size divided by leverage.
How do exchange fees affect PnL?
Every trade incurs taker fees on both entry and exit. Bybit charges 0.055% and Binance charges 0.04% per side. Total fee = position size × fee rate × 2 (open + close).
